‘’Celui-ci est mon Fils bien-aimé, en qui j’ai mis toute mon affection: écoutez-le!! » Matt. 17:5
De l’entrée triomphale parmi la foule en liesse au moment intime du lavement des pieds des disciples, du dernier repas et la prière angoissée dans le jardin à l’horreur de la flagellation et la moquerie de sa royauté…le voyage de Jésus en tant qu’être humain touchait à sa fin.
Cette image représente la couronne d’épines qui résume sa cruelle humiliation, le manteau pourpre de l’Empire Romain et son autorité absolue sur le monde.
Lorsque Il prononce ses dernières paroles : « C’est fini, Père, je remets mon esprit entre tes mains », son Père Céleste réponds par ces paroles « Voici mon Fils, que j’aime, en qui j’ai mis toute mon affection », elles ont également été entendues lors du baptême de Jésus. Elles semblent correspondre à ses derniers instants sur la croix.
Le corps de Jésus, brisé, endommagé au-delà de toute guérison et son esprit étaient maintenant entre les mains de son Père Céleste aimant. Sa foi et son amour ont été mis à l’épreuve jusqu’à la fin. ….. Mais ce n’était que le début.
This is my son , whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him! » Matt. 17:5
From the triumphant entry , the rejoicing crowds , to the intimate moment of sharing with the disciples with the bowl and towel, the last supper and the anguished prayer in the garden, to the horror of the flogging and the mocking of his kingship. Jesus physical journey was coming to an end.

The words , this is my son , whom I love , with him I am well pleased , we’re heard at Jesus baptism , but it also seems to fit his final moments on the cross, where , Jesus utters his own final words , “ it is finished , father into your hands I commit my spirit.”
That his father in heaven would respond with these words as he looked down on the form of his son.
Jesus body was broken and damaged beyond repair , his spirit was now in the hands of his loving father in heaven . His faith and his love tested until the end ….. But it was just the beginning .
